Examiner Article about the production.

When Judy Norton (The Waltons) and Tony Dow (Leave It to Beaver) took the stage at the Palace Theater in Grapevine Sunday evening, the audience experienced a rare treat on Main Street as the duo brought A.R. Gurney's Pulitzer Prize nominated Love Letters, an at-once light-hearted and poignant recounting of the distant half-century-long relationship shared between "Melissa Gardner" (Norton) and "Andrew Makepeace Ladd" (Dow).

Lauren and Tony heading to Fresno for a little Halloween fun...

So we’re going up to visit ‘the kids’ in Fresno, where my son Christopher is a firefighter. Lauren tried talking our 4-year old granddaughter, Tyla into dressing up like an ugly little witch for Halloween but she still wants to be Hanna Montana. Anyway, it’ll be fun being together. They live on “Christmas Tree Lane,” the longest one in the USA. It’s a really big deal and brings in tens of thousands of people to view the wonderful scenes that the residents create. More on that later. In the meantime, have a cool Halloween.

Tony Dow and Judy Norton read love letters in Grapevine

Tony Dow (Wally of Leave it to Beaver) and Judy Norton (Mary Ellen of The Waltons) read Love Letters in Grapevine. This is a story of two childhood friends who first exchanged Valentine cards in second grade. Little did they know that this would begin a series of exchanges that would continue through middle age. Both born into wealth but their lives take different paths. The letter exchange continues even through failed educational goals, marriages and later political successes. Will they realize the depth of their relationship before it is too late? This is a love story told in a humourous and poignant manner strenghtened by words written when the words could not spoken.

Cal Net Technology Group Releases Video Marketing Campaign Starring "Leave It To Beaver's" Tony Dow

CUBE_Tony_Dow_vsm

The videos from CalNet Tech are finally up. We’ve made up a “New Media” page to host them. Here’s the wire that got sent out and picked up by MSNBC:

(...)
Cal Net Technology Group caters its I.T support services to this demographic and aims to convey this message through the humorous, yet all-too-relatable campaign, which portrays Dow is an aggravated CEO in various "technologically challenging" situations.

"A great majority of our clients are lead by brilliant CEOs who have built their companies from literally nothing into multi-million dollar enterprises... before technology took a stronghold," remarked Cal Net CEO, Zack Schuler. "By creating an advertising campaign specifically with this generation in mind, starring someone they recognize from their younger, carefree days, we hope prospective clients will relate to the message and trust us with their I.T. needs."

Using taglines like "Our I.T. support keeps you up to date" and "We promise never to forget you," the videos display a frustrated Tony Dow seeking advice on how to fix his Outlook program and use his “Blackberry” which he apparently doesn't realize is actually a 1980s cellular phone.

Lorrie’s Pop Life Art Blog interviews Tony

CUBE_Tony_Dow_sm

Lorrie from Lorrie’s Pop Life Art Blog interviewed me the other day. Here’s the link and an excerpt below:

(...)

Lorrie: Do you think that being a well-known actor has any impact on your career as an artist?

Tony: Having celebrity may influence some people. I've tried not to use or mix my celebrity with my art although it's inevitable. For example, I was very happy and proud to be accepted in the international show at the Louvre last year as I'm sure the French had no knowledge of LITB or my acting/directing career. I'm just beginning to expose my work (about 12 bronze pieces, 30 or so wood pieces and a new series of at least 20 mixed media pieces). The gallery I was showing at in Beverly Hills has closed and I have not pursued other galleries. They say you have to spend at least 50% of your time promoting your work and because I'm no good at promoting myself and not relying on the income from my art, I am just concentrating on the work.

Thanks for the interview Lorrie!
