This was the first piece I completed. It was developed from an incredible hunk of fire-damaged burl found by the side of a road. Fascinated by the richness of the wood, I worked on it, on and off, over a period of ten years. When it was sanded and lacquered and polished, I knew there was a series of pieces about to evolve and I got to work. It became my passion.
